testing new server and gaming station hardware. |

| This first hardware test
includes three video cards and three different CPU mother board
combinations. All testing was done with the benchmark software
3DMark2001 from
madonion.com These systems were also tested for frames per second
(FPS) while playing Unreal Tournament. All FPS tests were conducted on
the same giant map, DM-Mighty-Clan1-dome with low and high detail
settings. |

| The results below are a bit
deceiving. The P4 1.7 combined with the Geforce3 Ti 500 take the top
3DMark2001 score. Going head to head in the same machine ( AMD 1800+),
using stock drivers for both cards the Ti 500 edges out the ATI 8500
Radon. However when playing Unreal Tournament all three cards played at
75 FPS using high or low detail settings making them all equal
performers. For those that are
demand top performance, the Ti 500 looks like the best bet, but the
Radon will also do a great job. For those game players looking for a
great card at a great price, it looks like the Geforce2 is still a top
performer.
